Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd started to take shape in the early 1960,s. Roger Waters and Nick Mason meet while studying architecture in London. The name cam from 2 influential artists, Pink Anderson and Floyd Counsil. Originally they were the Pink Floyd Sound and later dropped the Sound. David Gilmore signed on about 5 years after and the band gained popularity with their progressive and psychedelic music and elaborate shows. Floyd went through a series of morphs over the years creating several great albums and performing awesome shows. In 1994 the band seemingly disbanded, but in 2013 Waters, Gilmore, Mason and Wright got back together to recreate what they had built over some 30 years.
Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorite band. There musical instruments and the theatrical songs they have created over the years is A 1 in my book. One of my favorite albums is The Wall. I enjoy singing along and it never gets old for me. I actually have The Wall on record, tape, and CD. Although I don’t own the movie I have watched it a few times and all around this is just one of those timeless pieces that gets better every time you listen to it. Now that they’re back in the saddle with new releases, I hope to find them coming to my area as I have never seen them live.
I will slide Pink Floyd into my top ten all time Rock bands, I hope they continue to create new music. Although most of their music is still popular today, I would love to hear something new that has the same flow and electricity as The Wall. For now I will sit and wait and hope there is Another Brick in the Wall.
